Request for Proposal, Technology Consultant, BorrowDirect Shared Index Project

The Penn Libraries, in coordination with the Ivy Plus Libraries BorrowDirect Shared Index Working Group (BDSIWG) is embarking on an exciting new initiative to enhance discovery of our collective collections to support resource sharing between our 13 partner libraries. The BorrowDirect partners envision the creation of a shared index, along with robust data feeds, APIs, and a search function, to dramatically enhance the BorrowDirect service. The BDSIWG has issued this Request for Proposals for a Technology Consultant to assist us with this project. More >
 

Sharing Special Collections Materials via Resource Sharing Pilot Project

Beginning October 1, 2017, Brown, Chicago, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Penn, and Yale libraries will extend the BorrowDirect reciprocal Interlibrary Loan policy to include scans of Special Collections materials. These pilot libraries will honor requests from current students, faculty, and staff  from all Ivy Plus Libraries, including those not participating in the pilot. More > 
 

BorrowDirect Plus:  On-Site Borrowing

Beginning October 1, 2014, BorrowDirect Partner Libraries will allow eligible faculty, students, and staff borrowing privileges at participating member libraries. Please visit the On-Site Borrowing page for access and policy information for each institution.


Reciprocal Interlibrary Loan

BorrowDirect Libraries have extended free interlibrary loan fulfillment to Partner libraries. Transactions submitted through traditional ILL channels are filled on a reciprocal basis, including electronic article delivery, media loans, and other library resources not requestable from within the BorrowDirect platform.
